By now you’ve probably seen our three lovely Model of the Month contestants and their magazine covers, all encouraging you to vote for your favourite. How beautiful do they look?!
And whilst here at Brastop we’ve done many shoots over the years, this was our first ever Model of the Month shoot, and we couldn’t have been more excited. Model of the Month is our exciting new competition where we want you, the Brastop customers, to model for us because we think we have some of the most beautiful, curvaceous customers in the entire world and we want to show you off to the world! And even though it’s a fairly new competition, you all seem to love the competition and we’re so grateful for all the support! We’d thought we’d give you a bit of insight into what goes on at a Brastop photoshoot as a thank you…
Sadly our August winner Emma Eddy was too poorly to come to the shoot in October, please feel better soon Emma! She’ll be coming along to our next shoot so you’ll all be seeing her soon.
So on a very sunny but very cold day in October we descended on a beautiful house in Barnes, South London for a day of posing with July, September and October winners Amie Wilson, Charlotte Hodges and Kate Nolan. It’s so nice to finally meet the girls after a few emails here and then, and I was lucky enough to get to interview them…expect to hear all about their experiences very soon!
The houses we get to shoot in are absolutely beautiful and it’s hard to imagine that people actually live in them. I’m almost too scared to touch anything in case I break it, but we find that working in a house makes the whole experience a lot more relaxing. I’m not sure I’d be so confident strutting my stuff in my smalls in a house full of people, so well done to the girls for being so confident and comfortable. The houses we use I think always help to relax our contestants (and the Brastop team!) because after a while we all seem to forget what we’re really there for because we spend so much time hanging out like old friends. I’m probably making it seem like photo shoots are all work and no play but when you’re having that much fun it certainly doesn’t seem like work…
Imagine my surprise when I turn up to find the living room was looking a little…festive. Mistletoe above a roaring fire, and our very own Kimberley Bartlette wrapping some of the biggest boxes I’ve ever seen and singing a convincing version of ’Santa Baby’…that’s right, it was Christmas at Brastop! It may have been two months too early, but we had our own miniature Christmas celebration with the girls – not a bad way to spend a Friday!
As with any of the shoot I always wonder how we get much work done, considering we spend most of the day drinking copious amounts of tea, stuffing ourselves stupid with sweets and cake and laughing way too much. Luckily our brilliant hair and makeup lady Tracy was there to make the girls look-extra stunning (not that they needed a help!) and Alison the photographer once again brought out the best in everyone with some beautiful photos. Getting pampered and having some professional photos taken (and all the extra goodies to boot!) – maybe I should enter!
The girls all got to model some Brastop favourites and looked amazing doing so, keep an eye out on the Brastop website for some familiar faces to pop up. I’ve already spied all three beauties modelling on the site…have you?!
Another day, another Brastop shoot and I’m not alone in not wanting to leave at the end of the day. For anyone who thinks a photo shoot would be scary, we hope we’ve convinced you otherwise. We all know that they can be a pretty daunting prospect and that might put some people off from entering the competition but as you’ve hopefully realised by now they’re not at all terrifying…and anything but hard work!
To vote for your favourite cover girl, go to the Brastop Facebook page and cast your vote! Remember, you only get one vote, so choose wisely…
Thinking about entering? We hope so! Novembers competition ends on the 30th so get snapping!
Head on over to our Model of the Month page to read more about the competition.
